Renewable energy is collected from renewable resources which are naturally replenished and easily available. It derives directly from the sun, or from heat generated deep within the earth. Renewable energy resources and significant opportunities for energy efficiency exist over wide geographical areas, in contrast to other energy sources. Rapid deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and technological diversification of energy sources, would result in significant energy security and economic benefits.

Renewable energy often displaces conventional fuels in Power generation, Heating & Transportation. Renewable energy technologies are getting cheaper, through technological change and through the benefits of mass production.
